Common questions about sleep coaching

Straight answers about how sessions work, what gentle settling means in practice, and what you can expect before you book anything.

What age range does the coaching cover?

We work with families of newborns through babies up to twelve months. That includes the early weeks of day-night confusion, the four-month sleep shift, and later transitions like dropping the third nap or moving from bassinet to cot. If your baby is older than twelve months, we can point you toward resources that fit that stage better.

What does gentle sleep coaching actually look like?

It means we never leave your baby to cry alone. We build a plan around settling techniques that feel right for your family, whether that's gradual withdrawal, patting to sleep, or adjusting the timing of feeds and naps. The goal is to reduce crying and stress, not to push a one-size-fits-all method.

How are sessions delivered?

We meet over a video call, usually about an hour for the first consultation. After that, you get follow-up message support for a set period, plus access to a simple digital tracker you can fill in between calls. This way we can see what's actually happening at night and adjust the plan as your baby changes.

Will you force a strict schedule on our day?

No. We look at your home setup, your baby's natural rhythm, and what's realistic for you as a caregiver. Some families thrive on a predictable routine, others need more flexibility. The plan we build together respects both your baby's needs and your own energy levels.

What if my baby has feeding-related sleep associations?

This is one of the most common patterns we see. We'll help you gently separate feeding from falling asleep, using techniques like shifting the feed earlier in the bedtime routine or introducing a different soothing association. It's a gradual process, and we stay with you through the tricky nights.

How do I know if this approach fits my family?

The best way is to book a free fifteen-minute intro call. We'll talk about your baby's sleep patterns, your concerns, and whether our style of coaching matches what you're looking for. There's no pressure to commit after the call. If you'd rather read more first, you can also look at our approach to newborn care to see how we think about sleep.

Reach Out When You Need a Hand

Sleep questions rarely wait for office hours, and neither should you. Whether you are in the middle of a rough night or planning a nap transition for next week, here is how to get in touch and what to expect from us.

Video Call Sessions

Our main consultations happen over video, so we can see your nursery setup, watch how you settle your baby, and talk through your daily rhythm in real time. Sessions are scheduled at a time that works for your family, including evenings.

A typical session runs 45 to 60 minutes, with enough space for your questions.

Follow-Up Message Support

Between sessions, you can send a quick message about how the night went or ask a clarifying question about the plan. We keep the conversation going until you feel confident, not just until the call ends.

Message support is included with every plan and continues for the length of your program.

Simple Digital Tracker

A straightforward tracker helps you log naps, feeds, and night wakings between consultations. When we meet again, we can look at real patterns instead of guessing from memory. It takes less than a minute to update.

No complicated apps, just a clear view of what is happening day to day.

How Quickly We Respond

We aim to reply to messages within one business day, and usually much sooner during daytime hours. If you are in the middle of a difficult transition and need a quick check-in, mention that in your message and we will prioritise it.

Prefer to read through common questions first? Many families find quick answers in our FAQ section before reaching out. If you still need help after that, we are only a message away.

Still unsure where to start?

Many parents reach out with a specific worry — a baby who wakes too early, a nap that keeps getting skipped, or a bedtime that takes over an hour. If your question isn't answered on this page, send a short note describing what your days look like right now. We'll reply with a practical pointer and, if it helps, suggest which of our guides or sessions might fit your situation.

No pressure to commit to anything. Just tell us what's happening with your little one's sleep and we'll take it from there.

We usually reply within one working day. Your details stay private and are never shared.
